1. The manufacturing process and soap production principle differ. Regular laundry soap is produced using a large pot soap-making method involving the neutralization of acid and alkali. The process entails the reaction of caustic soda and oil to ultimately yield sodium fatty acid. This reaction is reversible, necessitating the addition of excess alkali for complete reaction. The resulting soap particles are a combination of strong base and weak acid salt, rendering the soap weakly alkaline. Conversely, baby laundry soap is manufactured through high-temperature hydrolysis to create soap particles. The principle involves oil undergoing hydrolysis in a high-temperature, high-pressure setting. During this reaction, oil breaks down into fatty acids with varying freezing points. The necessary fatty acids for soap production are isolated, cooled, and formed into soap granules. The primary component of these soap particles is fatty acids, resulting in a slightly acidic soap that closely matches the pH of human skin. This formulation is particularly suitable for individuals with sensitive skin, such as pregnant women, infants, and young children.
2. The formulations and functionalities vary. While conventional soap production involves adding fragrance to soap granules, grinding them, and shaping them into bars, baby laundry soap manufacturing is more intricate. Tailored to the specific stain characteristics of different types of laundry, baby soap incorporates targeted decontamination agents, skin care elements, color protection and softening agents, as well as antibacterial components. These additions result in a highly specialized soap product. Given that babies have delicate, thin skin, regular laundry soaps containing chemical ingredients can be harsh and harmful. Residual soap left on the skin can lead to irritation, redness, and swelling. Baby laundry soap, on the other hand, utilizes natural stain-removing ingredients that are gentle and non-irritating, making it a safer choice for babies' sensitive skin.
